REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO OBTAIN THE PROPERTY AND CASUALTY LICENSE

SINCE JULY 4, 2018 IN CALIFORNIA YOU CAN ALREADY GET THE INSURANCE LICENSE WITH THE ITIN NUMBER THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE HAS ANNOUNCED THAT THE PROPERTY AND CASUALTY LICENSE EXAMS MAY BE TAKEN IN SPANISH, BUT THE DATE OF START IS NOT YET. Those that can already be taken in Spanish are those of life; accident / health; combination life and accident / health; and life-limited to the sale of funeral and burial expenses

General Lines is the most complete license in the Property and Casualty insurance branch for California, it includes personal and commercial insurance.


 
STEP 1
 
TAKE 52 HOURS OF EDUCATION
 
$ 200.00

Applicants must complete 52 hours of education, that is 20 hours of Property, 20 hours of Casualty and 12 required hours of Ethics and the California Insurance Code before applying for a license. The required hours of Ethics and the California Insurance Code must only be taken once (Section 1749 (g) of the California Insurance Code (CIC)); Therefore, applicants applying for more than one type of license do not need to repeat the required hours of the Ethics and California Insurance Code *.
 
The 52 hours are taken online from your computer and consist of reading material with their respective exams. This is with the objective that the applicant obtain the necessary knowledge to be able to carry out the work according to the rules and regulations that the California Department of Insurance requires.
 
The total cost of the 52 hours is $ 200.00. This includes Virtual Classroom, certificate, registration, assistance, monitoring of the process until you obtain your license, support material to study the entire subject in Spanish with practice exams that help you pass the state exam. You also have the option to register to the software to quote insurance for your clients working for the Latino Training Center as an agent / broker so that you gain the experience you require. Before scheduling your exam, you should prepare to pass it.
 
The State of California requires that all applicants for a Property and Casualty license pass a pre-application exam. The Latino Center offers you the necessary training to pass the exam on the first attempt. We offer you study materials in Spanish and English that include practice exams with hundreds of questions in a format similar to that used in the state exam for as long as you need to pass your exam. Schedule exam appointment.

The state exam is administered by PSI Exams. Before scheduling the exam appointment make sure you are prepared to pass it. To schedule your exam you should visit the following PSI Exams website . Beginning users are required to create an account. The candidate must complete all the required data, preceded by an asterisk (*), in the online form to create an ID and assign a password. The step-by-step instructions will guide the candidate through the remainder of the exam reservation process. Candidates must make their reservation online at least twenty-four (24) hours before the desired exam date.

Before scheduling their appointment, candidates must have the following:

  • Name, address, Social Security number (or ITIN), daytime telephone number and date of birth

  • The type of exam to take

  • The preferred exam date and location of the exam center

  • Have a valid Social Security number, or ITIN number

NOTE: The exact demographic information, full legal name, date of birth, and social security number must be correct and identical to the information provided in the license application. If incorrect information is provided, a license will not be issued until proof of correct information is provided to the Insurance Department.
